Even outside of horse riding, Gut Matheshof has a lot to offer in terms of events. There are no limits to the size of event, and the infrastructure of the complex has the advantage of being only a short distance from the Hotel Gut Matheshof and offering ample parking facilities.
Gut Matheshof provides top-class conditions for riders and horses. The extensive showgrounds comprise 724 horse boxes, several riding halls and arenas as well as a stadium and three lunging circles.
More than 4,000 paved parking spaces and numerous alternative areas are available around the event centre, which can be used flexibly, for example for driving training or as camping areas.
With its riding surface made of a sand-clay mixture, the Ostbayernhalle (East Bavaria Hall) offers optimal conditions for equestrian events and is also versatile for other types of events. Depending on your requirements, the floor can be covered completely to prevent dust formation or to serve as a dance floor.
We will be happy to help you find suitable material. The stands can accommodate over 4,500 spectators and are equipped with modern cloakroom facilities.
Festhalle Rieden boasts an impressive total area of around 1800 square metres. This area can be split as needed to suit your event. The festival hall can accommodate up to 1,200 guests. We can accommodate all your requirements in terms of seating and technical equipment.
In addition to the large arena, the Ostbayernhalle in the heart of Gut Matheshof offers 17 conference rooms and six group rooms as well as adjacent restaurants – perfect for your event. Hotel Gut Matheshof also has additional meeting rooms.
According to documents and oral tradition, the Matheshof was owned by the Spies family from 1671 to 1988.
The farm did not become an estate until 1954 following the marriage between Mathes and Kredler farming families. With 160 hectares of land, an inn and a riding school with large indoor riding arena, the Spies family already offered its guests an impressive variety.
In 1988, the businessman Ernst Werner Schmidt from Nuremberg acquired the property and the land. He supplemented the estate with a generous 40 hectares of forest, meadows and fields, which he bought from a local farmer.
Gradually, the businessman renovated the inn area and built the Hotel Gut Matheshof and the Hans Nowak settlement. Today’s East Bavarian equestrian sports and tournament centre was created from facilities, halls and stables. With its rich history, our estate is now a thriving centre for equestrian sports and events.

Die Arena der Ostbayernhalle ist flexibel bestuhlbar und fasst bis zu 6400 Besucher. Zusammen mit den Tribünen stehen über 4500 feste Sitzplätze zur Verfügung und bei Bedarf können zusätzlich 1000 Sitzgelegenheiten eingerichtet werden. Die Arena selbst misst beeindruckende 80 x 40 Meter.
Rund um die Arena befinden sich 24 vielseitig nutzbare Räume mit einer Größe von bis zu 1800 Quadratmetern. Diese können für Tagungen, als Garderoben, Umkleiden oder Produktionsbüros genutzt werden. Jede Ebene der Halle ist mit Catering-Bereichen und großzügigen sanitären Anlagen ausgestattet.

Mit 30 Metern Breite und 60 Metern Länge lässt sich die Halle in Zehn-Meter-Schritten variabel durch Vorhänge unterteilen. The arena of the Ostbayernhalle has flexible seating and can accommodate up to 6,400 visitors. Together with the stands, there are over 4,500 permanent seats available and an additional 1,000 seats can be set up if required. The arena itself measures an impressive 80 x 40 metres.
24 versatile rooms measuring up to 1,800 square metres surround the arena. These can be used for conferences, as cloakrooms, changing rooms or production offices. Each level of the hall is equipped with catering areas and spacious sanitary facilities.

The Festhalle Rieden offers a flexible event space covering 1,800 square metres. With a width of 30 metres and a length of 60 metres, the hall can be variably divided into ten-metre sections using curtains. The versatile technical, seating and stage options enable you to create the perfect ambience, be it for concerts, trade fairs, shareholders’ meetings or aircraft presentations.
The direct connection to the Ostbayernhalle enables you to expand your event with additional rooms. Festhalle Rieden also has sanitary facilities and a modern energy infrastructure. There are no limits to your event ideas.
